Many members of the unit act as Young Leaders for the younger sections, the Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts. This involves working with the adult leadership teams, running games, and activities.

Taceham Young Leaders meet once a month for a variety of social and developmental activities.

Part of the units programme includes a series of training modules that cover important transferable skills such as leadership, programme planning and first aid.

There are four "missions" that can be completed by members of the unit. Each mission leads to the award of one mission badge. Once all the training modules and all four mission have been complete the Young Leaders Belt is presented.
