September Camp Members of Axford Explorer Scouts went to the Longridge campsite by the Thames for a weekend of water activities. We gave Sailing, Dragon Boating and Rowing a go. |

Unit Expedition to Kandersteg! This term the unit has started to prepare for its first large overseas expedition for a number of years. We are going to Kandersteg - the International Scout Center in the Swiss Alps. The units continguent is made up of 30 people including leaders. Whilst in the mountains we will be taking part in a range of exciting adventurous activities including mountaineering and climbing. Over the next few months the unit will be selecting the adventurous activities that we are going to be taking part in and fundraising for the trip. |

Thatcham Youth Quiz We came second in this year's Thatcham Uniformed Youth Quiz. This is a great improvement over the joint last that we have achieved for the past few years! Congratulations to Rebecca, Tom, Lily and Ben D. |

Jaffa Challenge 2009 Axford Explorers came third in the Jaffa Challenge this year. Well done! |
Wings2009 is an international camp with over 5,500 scouts and guides from accross the world. The unit attended with a group of 28 explorers. We shared our camp with a group of 6 Scouts from Sweden. Each day we took part in two activity zones which included Hot Air, Physical, Outdoor Activities, Global Development and Entertainment. |
