We have now reached the end of another busy term, which has seen a number of new members join the unit. Overall in the January Census the units numbers were up by 10 over the same time last year. This tems we have been creative attempting Balloon Modelling and Origami, as well as destructive building fires, and active with space hopper football and walking. In January a group of the Explorers froze at Gilwell Winter Camp in sub zero temperatures, whilst taking part in a range of activities including outdoor laser quest. We have been out practising for the Three Towers covering the whole route in preparation for three teams competing in the Explorer route in April. The practices included a very pleasent February day walking along the Ridgeway in the snow.. The Axford Canoe Club has started off with 3 kayaking session going to kick of the session. There will be many more as we go into the summer. Next term sees a busy programme with the Build up for Wings, the Crafty Craft Raft Race and Gilwell 24. Ben |

| The Autumn Term has been a successful one for the unit, we have increased the number of meeting nights to weekly and the number of members have increased to 27. We have also recruited three new leaders, Rachel, Simon W and Sonja. The County Jaffa Challenge was relaunched and the Axford Explorers managed to get three teams together (the most in the county), one of which came Third. 10 Explorers went to the Forest of Dean in October for a weekend of Caving, Climbing, Walking and Mountain Biking. The term was finished off with a Christmas Dinner and Kareoke session enjoyed by all. We have had some more success with raising funds with a grant from the Greenham Common Trust which we be using to buy the camping equipment that we need for Wings2009 and other unit trips. For next term we have planned a busy programme which includes balloon modelling, survival skills and debating as well as having Winter Camp, the Three Towers Hike, and the Crafty Craft Raft Race to look forward to.
